new garden leaves

I was in complete bliss when I opened the kiln on Thursday.
The colors of my new clay Hosta leaves are lush.

This is a Japanese fern rolled into the clay.  The texture is lovely.  The glaze is so interesting. I rubbed green into the fern the used "frosted melon" over the top.  The colors come out cantaloupe with hints of honey dew green. So interesting'
Working with clay is such a passion of mine.  I love to mold and form with it.  It brings back the memories of Play dough......
